Frequently asked

Do I need a green wall?+

A green or evenly-lit clean wall works best, but Chromabooth-Pro's auto-key is forgiving. We can recommend setups that fit your venue.

What hardware do I need?+

On a tablet (iPad Pro, iPad Air, Galaxy Tab S9, Surface Pro), the built-in camera is the recommended setup — add a ring light or two softboxes and you're already at premium quality. Want to plug in a Sony, Canon, or Nikon mirrorless? Use a Mac or Windows laptop with an Elgato Cam Link 4K HDMI capture. See our recommended hardware guide for ranked picks per budget.

Can guests share to social directly?+

Guests scan the on-canvas QR code, which delivers the photo, GIF, or video to their phone. From there they post wherever they like.

How do custom backgrounds work?+

Pick the Enterprise plan or add it on. Send us your logo, colors, and any references — we deliver branded stills and animated MP4 loops ready to drop in.

What happens if my event runs over?+

The Pay-per-event tier covers up to 8 hours. Past that, we just bill the extra hours at a flat rate — no penalty.

What's your refund policy?+

Pay-per-event purchases are fully refundable up to 7 days before your event date (50% inside 7 days). New Pro subscribers can request a 50% refund within 14 days. After that, cancel any time from the operator portal — you keep access until the end of the billing period. No long-term contracts.

Do I need internet at the venue?+

A standard 4G/5G hotspot or venue Wi-Fi is enough. The booth runs locally in the browser, so a brief drop won't kill your event — guests can still capture and the QR delivery resumes the moment connectivity returns.

Which languages does the guest UI support?+

English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Japanese, and Chinese — switchable from the booth and from this site. Every prompt and label is fully translated, no machine output.

Can I run multiple kiosks at the same event?+

Yes — Pro covers 3 devices, Enterprise is unlimited. Each kiosk runs independently, but photos can share a single event archive and a single branded experience.

What's the best hardware setup?+

We maintain a ranked guide of tablets, cameras, lights, and stands per budget — from a $300 starter kit to a broadcast-grade rig. We are not paid or sponsored by any of the brands we recommend — these are just the kits we've actually tested. See our recommended hardware guide.
